Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–3 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (734) 263-2888. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is lancitynoodles.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 323 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

I drove to Ann Arbor from Grand Rapids specifically for hand pulled noodles and found exactly what I was looking for. They had a huge selection of soups that were a considerable size for a reasonable price. I went with the roasted duck soup (with hand pulled noodles) with a mango drink on the side. It was really great watching the kitchen staff made the noodles by hand, and I am all about duck. The portions were large enough that I still had a snack for the next day.

Things have changed quite a bit since I went to UofM and mostly in a good way. I wish there was an authentic Chinese noodle place when I was here. This joint was carved out like a student cafe with bar stools along the walls and around the sushi bar in the middle, there are a few tables, cafeteria style, nothing fancy. The noodles in the brisket beef noodle soup are truly handmade, but to me it was a bit over cook, not enough chew. On the other hand the soup flavor was legit, balanced five spice. The brisket was tender and there is a large portion of it. The Singapore Noodle has always been my favorite noodle dish because of the curry flavor and I love thin vermicelli noodles stirfried. Most places don't know how to make it right, too wet or the flavor is underwhelming. Aside from a little too much oil, this dish here is perfect. If they could add a little bit of Chasu in it, it would complet it. Finally, the bubble tea, I would give the tapioca a 7/10, but that Milk Tea is terrible, not much tea flavor and all sugar. I would try the fruity ones next time and see if they are any better. I will try their Ypsi location next time.

My Wife and I ordered Duck Soup and another noodle entrΓ©e for take out from this place and found a cockroach in the soup. Absolutely disgusting. I took a photo of it. We will never step foot in this place again.

I’m extremely disappointed. I purchased noodles from this restaurant and discovered a larvae/maggot inside when reheating them the next day. I have attached the photo. The restaurant acknowledged the issue when I contacted them. I have submitted a report to the Washtenaw County Health Department so they can inspect the kitchen. I recommend avoiding this restaurant until they complete a health inspection and address the contamination.

This place is extremely underrated. One of my close friends told me these are the best noodles I’ll get in all of Ann Arbor and he was not wrong. I got the Peking Pork and couldn’t be more content with my decision. The noodles are the star of the show and that’s not saying the pork wasn’t good. Prices are affordable and you will be getting your food in under 20 minutes. I 100% recommend you stopping by you won’t regret it!
